Industry Advisory Board

Objective

The purpose of our Industry Advisory Board is to assist the Computer Science Department in meeting its mission. To this end, the board advises the faculty on industry needs, curriculum changes, recruitment, and placement of graduates.

Organization

Each company employing or desiring to employ Tech graduates are invited to send a representative to the Board meetings. Insofar as possible, Tech graduates are preferred, but any representative is welcome. No more than thirty people are invited to participate in any given year. To provide continuity, members are encouraged to participate for a minimum of three years. Members unable to attend are asked to find a substitute.

Meetings are held once a year, generally in the fall. The agenda will be set by the department head in consultation with the faculty and members of the advisory board. Any member of the board is welcome to submit items for the agenda. Topics for discussion are generally focused on the items listed in the objectives given above, but others are open for discussion at the request of any board member.

The Department provides meals and materials at the meetings. Housing and transportation is the responsibility of the individual members of the board and their companies.
